Abstract
OBJECTIVE To observe the clinical effect of electrolyzed oxidizing water(EOW)on flushing of deep second degree burn wounds infected with Pseudomonas aeruginosa so as to provide guidance for flushing and disinfection of the burn wounds with appropriate solutions.METHODS Totally 54 male Sprague-Dawley(SD)rats with two consistent deep second degree burn were infected with P.aeruginosaon the back, the rats were randomly divided into three groups, each group received one kind of disinfectant solutions to irrigate the infectious wounds, the group A was treated with the chlorhexidine acetate solution, the group B was given the electrolyzed oxidizing water, the group C was treated with normal saline, and the Silikai nano-silver antibacterial gel was used for drug dressing of the three groups;the reduction in the content of bacteria in the wound tissues, the wound contraction rate during the wound healing, the epithelialization rate, and the time of wound healing were recorded after the drug dressing;the data were statistically analyzed with the use of SPSS19.0software.RESULTS There was significant difference in the bacterial quantitative in wound tisses between the three groups before and after the drug dressing, the difference was greatest in the group B(1.21±0.51)×108 CFU/g before and after the drug dressing, the bacterial inhibition rate was(52.41±6.42)%,there was statistically significant(P0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the wound contraction rate in the early stage of burn wound between the two groups;with the increase of frequency of drug dressing, the difference became greater and greater. The epithelialization rate of the group B was(89.79±5.43)%on day 16 of the burn wound, significantly higher than(62.35±9.65)% of the group A and(72.92±5.73)% of the group C,there was statistically significant difference(P0.05).The time of wound healing was shortest in the group B(17.75±1.49)days,followed by the group C(22.00±2.20)days and the group A(24.25±2.12)days,there was statistically significant difference in the time of wound healing between the three groups(P0.05).CONCLUSIONS The EOW is remarkably superior to the chlorhexidine acetate solution and normal saline in the bactericidal ability and promotion of wound healing and is one of the leading strategies for treatment of deep second degree burn wounds.
