The design and application of new near log acuity chart

Objective:To develop a kind of new near logarithms visual acuity chart that is suitable for China reality and ophthalmic clinic.Methods:New near logarithms visual acuity chart was designed according to the international (GB-11533-89) design,but also obey Weber-Feche rule strictly.A total of 59 patients (118 eyes) without eye diseases(except cataract and refractive error)were taken at random from eye center.The uncorrected vision and corrective vision were measured respectively by four kinds of near visual acuity charts:《Standard Near Visual Acuity Chart 》《Logarithms Near Visual Acuity Chart 》《log MAR Near Visual Acuity Chart 》with lately-developed 《New Near Logarithms Visual Acuity Chart 》,and analyzed with F test analysis.Results:Uncorrected visual acuity:3 groups had no obvious differences.Corrected visual acuity:older age group had no obvious difference.In young and young-middle age group,four kinds of visual acuity charts contain difference (P0.05).Conclusion:Four kinds of visual acuity charts can be a general eye exam usage,but check sight for the special patient,such as old man,child,low vision patients etc,《New Near Logarithms Visual Acuity Chart 》is more reasonable and accurate.
