Abstract
The methods for solving structural dynamic responses by using viscous damping and complex damping models are discussed. With equal damping ratio,complex damping model and viscous damping model are used to calculate the responses of two frame structures under various seismic ground motions separately,and the contrast of the results is made and the influence of structural dynamic responses between two different damping models is analysed.It is shown that the damping has great influence on the structural dynamic responses.
