Abstract

The engineering drawing National Standard should adapt itself to the developing requirements of CAD and graph information processing techniques, especially the progress of the engineering drawing recognition techniques. According to the needs for computer graphics and engineering drawing recognition, the principles for establishing engineering drawing rules of CAD are presented. It can make the drafting and reading drawings simple and convenience, and also contribute to engineering drawing recognition. It is help to distinguish between artificial marks, and stains and gaps on engineering drawings. Revision of engineering drawing National Standards, GB/T 14665-1998 Mechanical engineering drawing rules of CAD and GB/T 17450-1998 Technical drawings -Basic conventions for lines, is discussed.
