Abstract

Self-centering and rocking structures have been proposed as new structural systems in recent years.Compared with the traditional frame and shear wall structure, this kind of structure has an unique advantages in structural deformantion and damage control under earthquake inputs. In this paper,a frame shear wall structure,a frame self-centering wall structure and a frame structure with the same frame system and walls layout were simulated by using the finite element programe ABAQUS.Both pushover and elasto-plastic time-history analyses were carried out.Carrying capacity, deformation and energy dissipation were compared to further illustrate the structural characteristics of the frame self-centering wall structure. In the end,a preliminary analysis was conducted to study the impact of damper on the frame self-centering wall structure.
