Abstract

Experiments in field showed that the control effects of 0.1% fipronil and 1% imidacloprid to workers of Solenopsis invicta Buren were 78.32 %~92.08 % and 65.84%~66.48 % respectively after 3~10 days, their effects to destroy the nests of Solenopsis invicta were 92.07 % and 64.86% respectively after 10 days. The above two results indicated that 0.1% fipronil was better effective than 1% imidacloprid in controlling Solenopsis invicta.
