Abstract

Objective To study the features of ECG in elderly patients with acute pulmonary embolism and its clinical significance. Methods Changes on ECG for 76 elderly patients with acute pulmonary embolism were analyzed before and after treatment. Results The ECG was abnormal for the 76 patients with acute pulmonary embolism, including sinus tachycardia in 63(82.9%),elevated R wave on the aVR lead in 57(75.0%),deep and inverted T wave on the V1-V4 leads in 42(55.3%),and SⅠQⅢTⅢ in 40(52.6%),premature beats in 16(21.0%).The ECG was significantly better after treatment than before treatment. Conclusion The ECG is usually abnormal for early acute pulmonary embolism patients without specific change on ECG.ECG can show its certain characteristic rules.Careful ECG analysis in combination with the clinical symptoms of patients and auxiliary examinations is of important significance for the diagnosis of acute pulmonary embolism.
