Abstract
OBJECTIVE To develop the control measure of measles and provide a scientific basis by analyzing the epidemic trend and epidemiological characteristics of measles before and after the supplementary immunization in Nanjing.METHODS The incidences of measles before and after the supplementary immunization in 2008,2009 and 2010 in Nanjing were analyzed to evaluate the effect of the supplementary immunization activities and to explore the impact of factors related to the characteristics of the measles epidemic.RESULTS There were 382 cases,478 cases,44 cases of measles in 2008,2009,2010 respectively in Nanjing. The incidence rate are 4.94/100 000,6.34/100 000,0.61/10 000 respectively. The incidence rate of 2010 was lower than 2 years before by 87.65% and 90.37%.Measles incidence was obviously seasonal, concentrating from March to May,with incidence rates 2.41/100 000,4.27/100 000 and 0.21/100 000.Measles cases increased from July to September; The measles mainly occurred among babies less than 8 months and service workers, students and worker 15 years or older.Significant decline in measles incidence in districts included Xiaguan(100%),Gaochun(100%),Jianye(96.58%),and Yuhua(96.44%).CONCLUSION Measles immunization can reduce the susceptibility of people to achieve rapid control the incidence of measles and reduce measles morbidity.
