Abstract
Objective:To investigate the relationships between rs3865418 polymorphism of neural precursor cell expressed developmentally downregulated 4-like gene (NEDD4L) and essential hypertension in Kazakh this is an ideal population to study genetic mechanisms of hypertension.Method:By genotyping the rs385418 polymorphism in a Kazakh general population,a case-control study was conducted.Result:Rs3865418 polymorphism was successfully genotyped in Kazakh general population. The distribution of genotype and allele frequencies of rs3865418 didn't differ significantly between case and control in total, male and female respectively (all P0.05).After adjusting for confounding factors, covariate variance analysis showed that the mean of systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure among three genotypes were not different significantly (all P0.05).Conclusion:rs3865418 polymorphism may not be associated with essential hypertension in Kazakh general population.
