Abstract
[Objective]To observe the effect of esmolol on cardiovascular reactions of cervical plexus block.[Methods]Forty two cases suffering from hyperthyroidism were divided into two groups at random; group of Esmolol (21 cases) and group of control(21 cases).If the intraoperative BP18.7/12 kPa,esmolo 0.5 mg/kg was used intravenously in esmolol group,saline was used in control group,and then 5-min, 10-min, 20-min heart rate (HR)、systolic pressure (SBP)、diastolic pressure(DBP) and mean blood pressure (MBP) were delected.[Results]The HR, SBP, DBP and MBP were relatively stable in operation of esmolol group.The 5-min, 10-min, 20-min HR、 SBP、 DBP and MBP were clearly higher after anesthesia in control group than in esmolol group(P0.05 or P0.01).[Conclusion]Esmolol is effective and safe on cardiovascular reactions of cervical anesthesia.
