Abstract
The reign of Emperor Renzong( 仁宗) of Song Dynasty lasted forty- two years,he was largely regarded as a mediocre monarch. During his reign, the court officials criticized him harshly. However, his image was improved greatly after his death. The change happened during the period of Xi Feng( 熙丰) Reform. The political reform implemented by Emperor Shenzong( 神宗) and Wang Anshi( 王安石) had been rejected fiercely by the senior important officials who advocated that the institutions established by former emperors can not be changed. Under such circumstances, the image of Emperor Renzong had been prettified as well, which has a close relationship with the politics of Song Dynasty.
