Abstract
The arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) status of six plants of Compositae in saline alkaline soil of Tianjin was surveyed. It was found that all the plants formed AMF. The colonization rate and spore density was different among the different plants. No significant correlation was detected between AM fungal spore density and colonization rate. The salt content of rhizosphere soil was low. Twenty-two species of AMF belonging to two genera, Acaulospora, Glomus, were recorded by means of a preliminary resource investigation of AMF in the rhizosphere soils, three species belong to Acaulospora and nineteen species belong to Glomus. Six species, G. citricolum, G. geosporum, G. hoi, G. monosporum, G. multiforum, G. versiforme occurred at high frequency.
