Professor Ma Guitong's Experience in Treating Chronic Atrophic Gastritis on Syndrome Differentiation

This paper introduced professor Ma Guitong’s experience in the treatment of chronic atrophic gastritis.It is argued that chronic atrophic gastritis is associated with debility,attack of exogenous pathogens,improper diet,emotional stress and exhaustion.The basic pathogenesis is failure of spleen in governing transportation and transformation,qi stagnation of middle energizer,and qi disease involving blood.Deficiency of spleen and stomach is the base of the pathogenesis.According to the long duration and complex symptoms of chronic atrophic gastritis,professor Ma advances reinforcement and elimination in combination,simultaneous treatment of principal and subordinated symptoms,reasonable use of agents promoting circulation and removing stasis,regulating spleen and stomach through emotion and diet in the treatment.
