Reconstruction on Bem's Androgyny Theoretical Model

According to the traditional masculinity femininity model,the type of gender role can be divided into masculinity and femininity. With the appearance of the concept of androgyny,Bem raised the Androgyny Theoretical Model,dividing the gender role into four types:masculinity,femininity,androgyny and undifferentiation. This new theory changed people's viewpoints on the effect that the gender had brought about in people's mentality and behavior in the light of half-divided means. However,neither Bem clarified the difference between the concept of androgyny and the one of neutrality,nor he noticed the existence of another trait called neutral trait which is suitable for both male and female. Therefore,the traits of gender role include male trait,female trait and neutral trait. According to the status and function of different gender traits,the gender role can be divided into five types that are masculinity,femininity,androgyny,neutralization and undifferentiation.
