Abstract
Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of acupoint thread-embedding in the treatment of chronic bronchial asthma in the persistent phase. Methods: Sixty patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group. The patients in the treatment group mainly received acupoint thread-embedding therapy. The patients in the control group were given Western medicine therapy only. All the treatment lasted for 3 months. Results: The total effective rate was 93.33% in the treatment group after 3-month therapy, which was higher than that in control group (70.00%,P 0.01). The lung function of the patients in the treatment group was significantly improved compared with that in the control group after 3-month treatment. The difference between the two groups was significant. Conclusion: The clinical efficacy of acupoint thread-embedding therapy is superior than single Western medicine therapy for chronic bronchial asthma during persistent phase and it can improve the lung function. The efficacy is definite and has no adverse reaction.Acupoint thread-embedding therapy is worthy of application and popularization in clinical practice.
