Abstract
The electric control system of the explosion-proof diesel powered overhead monorail locomotive was designed in the paper. Based on PLC control technology, the monitoring and automatic alarming of explosion-proof diesel, hydraulic system and locomotive temperature, pressure, velocity, rotary velocity of diesel, climbing angle of locomotive as well as the controlling of locomotive could be achieved. In addition, the design of the electric control system included two independent units which were the automatic fire extinguishing unit and video monitoring unit, which were used to protect the locomotive and monitor the safety of moving locomotive.
