Abstract

Shi Zong-zhao was a scholar of southern Song Dynasty in eastern Zhejiang province,whose biography can not be found in The History of the Song Dynasty and whose life story had not been apparently veiled.In the Volume 6268 of The Complete Works of Song Dynasty there is his biography,but this biography has errors and omissions which need to be examined and corrected.According to this version,Shi Dou-wen and Shi Zong-zhao were brothers yet they were uncle and nephew.This version doesn't record Shi Zong-zhao's first post as an official in Taizhou after his success in the imperial examination and his job in Huainan.The paper has examined his experiences at the local and the imperial court after his success in the imperial court examination in the eighth year of Qiandao Rein(1172) and carried out textual research on his family background,his birth and death.
