Abstract

Porous Al_2O_3 ceramic/Al_2O_3 ultrafine particle/epoxy new composites were fabricated using the ordered Al_2O_3 porous ceramic as the frame.The effect of 3D interpenetrated Al_2O_3 ceramic on the mechanical property and dimensional stability at high temperature of new composites was studied.The results showed the new composites had better mechanical properties at room temperature and high temperature.At room temperature,flexural strength,flexural modulus,compressive strength and compressive modulus of the composites with the porous Al_2O_3 ceramic frame of 16.8% were 115.5MPa,3.6GPa,170.2MPa,2.4GPa,respectively.At 120℃,compressive strength and modulus of the composites were 47.8MPa and 0.9GPa,respectively.The composites had good dimensional stability at high temperature and no deformation was observed at 180℃.
