Abstract

Based on the analysis of interaction in frame-shear wall structures,the reasonabability of partial interruption of shear walls was discussed on design concepts.The comparison analysis of period,displacement,stiffness ratio and reinforcement on different conditions with partial shear wall interruption and all shear walls up to roof was performed based on two practical engineering projects.The results show that the influence of partial shear wall interruption on lateral stiffness of the structure can be neglected,roof displacement can be reduced slightly and the seismic performance is enhanced slightly.Volume of concrete can be reduced and the project cost can be cut accordingly by using this method.
