Abstract

The ultrasonic machining of brittle and hard material was studied and the material removal mechanism was analyzed.A theoretical model of the material removal rate(MRR) in ultrasonic machining was proposed. The relation between MRR and the machining parameters was presented. The glass machining was used to demonstrate the validity of the model.
