Comparative Analysis Between Clinical and Endoscopic Features of Ischemic Colitis and Ulcerative Colitis

Objective To compare the differences of clinical and endoscopic features between ischemic colitis(IC) and ulcerative colitis(UC),which might extend to different diagnosis and treatments.Methods Retrospective analysis were focused on the similarities and differences of age structure,gender,onset duration,underlying disease,clinic and endoscopic features,pathological diagnosis of IC patients(30 cases) and UC patients(40 cases) from January 2007 to August 2010.Results The differences of age structure,duration,underlying disease,clinic features between the IC and UC were significant(P0.01).Helcosis,fresh bleeding of mucous membrane and lesion boundaries of endoscopic features were significantly different(P0.01).But the histopathologic features of IC and UC were not significantly different.Conclusion We should make a comprehensive analysis of clinical and endoscopic features by combining with medical history,for providing a strong basis for the identification of IC and UC.
