Current State and Case Studies of Undergraduate Education Reform of American Research Universities

Undergraduate education is the core of research university, laying the foundation for sustainable and lifelong development of people. It is worth discussing and studying how to maximise the advantages of research universities to provide an excellent undergraduate education, such as faculty, facilities, majors and students. Since the publication of Reinventing Undergraduate Education:A Blueprint for America's Research Universities in 1998, American research universities have adopted several measures to innovate undergraduate education, and led a swelling tide of undergraduate education reform throughout the USA. This article discusses undergraduate education reform in American research universities with case studies. It aims to provide practical implications for research universities in China.
