Empirical Study of Environmental Kuznets Curve

The research of environmental Kuznets curve is promoted by intensified conflict between economic growth and environment.The concept of environmental Kuznets curve starts from empirical study,initially referring to the inverted U-type relationship between economic growth and the level of environmental pollution,and later the inverted U-type relationship between economic growth and environmental quality is also called the environmental Kuznets curve.There are many empirical studies on the relationship between economic growth and environmental quality since the early 1990s.This article outlines the fitted model of environmental Kuznets curve used in empirical research: quadratic function,the three function-and logarithmic function.The data used in the empirical studies are cross-sectional data,panel data and time series data.The paper evaluated the three kinds of data used in empirical studies and review the empirical studies of environmental Kuznets curve.Then the paper compared the empirical studies at home and abroad in the data selection,indicators selection and methods.Finally,the paper recommended environmental indicators should be broadened,model improvement and continue studying the interaction between economic growth and environment.
