Abstract
The floating Population is the short period migration population. This paper studied the classification, main reason, age structure, sex ratio, marriage ststus, culture and occupation distribution, as well as the moving in and moving out area distribution of the floating population in China using the census data in 1990 as well as 1％ sample survey data in 1995.
