Abstract
The Changhsing Formation is well developed and widespread in eastern Fujian. This formation in Datian of Fujian is 41.15 meters thick, and composed mainly of microlitic limestone and bioclastic limestone. It is comformably underlain by the Fenghai Formation and overlain by the Xikou Formation. The smaller foraminiferal fauna described and illustrated in this paper is the first report from the Changhsing Formation in Kongdongshan of Datian, Fujian. By studying smaller foraminifers, this article not only furnishes the evidence for the age of the Changhsing Formation but also replenish new fossil record for late Late Permian of Fujian Province. A brief discussion is made on the environmental characteristic of the limestones in the Changhsing Formation of this region. DESCRIPTION OF NEW SPECIES Genus Neogeinitzina K.M.-Maclay, 1954 Neogeinitzina kongdongshanensis sp. nov. (Pl.Ⅱ, fig.41) Test subisosceles triangle in longitudinal section, greatest width lie in the top of test. Adult test having 1012 volutions, about 0.83 mm in heigh and 0.44 mm in width. Septa closely unflated and slightly vanlted in the middle portions. The outer side of septa down bend and linked together with septal margin of the preceding chamber and form a sharp suture. The internal septa down bend near centre of test and form internal siphon. Remark This new species is similar to Neogeinitzina orientalis K.M.-Maclay, but the latter having much smaller test.
