Abstract

The field experiment of maize for effect of fertilizer application in Jianghuai region, Anhui province was conducted. The results showed that potassium application could obviously increase yield of maize, and effect of K-uptake was significant for yield as ample N,P fertilizer. The amount of K-uptake by straw was exceeded two times that of grain. N quantity from soil is 75.83 kg/hm2; K2O quantity from soil is 54.85 kg/hm2. The total amount of K-uptake of NPK treatment increased by 82.7% compared with NP treatment on average, grain and straw increased by 18.4% and 132.5%, respectively on average,so influence of K-uptake for straw yield was smaller than for grain yield. All treatments of potassium and nitrogen application occurred K and N-surplus at different degree, suggesting K-uptake by maize decreased under circumstance of no nitrogen fertilizer. The VCR of the potassium fertilizer (K2O) for NPK2 was highest in this experiment, to 3.46 and economic performance was best too. Therefore,as soil of native area with equal fertility, applying potassium 136 kg/hm2 for maive was recommend.
