Abstract

Article regards homonym as a separate figure of speech and homonym commonly exists in the Chinese language.Interesting homonym also exists in the Chinese name.because there are differences between English and Chinese,it is inevitable to lose meaning in homonym translation.Article takes Chinese-to-English translation of name guided by the Chinese Phonetic System as example,discusses the translatability limitation degree of homonym.
