Corporate Governance,Governance Index and Corporate Performance—Data from 231 Private Listed Companies of Hu & Shen Stock Markets in China

Drawing upon the corporate governance appraisal systems from home and abroad,the pa- per designs the corporate governance appraisal indexes for listed companies in China.The author runs through private listed companies and makes a quantitive appraisal,results show that the level of corporate governance is unsatisfied in general.Then,the paper makes an empirical study on the relation between corporate governance indexes and performance.The results show the index is dominantly relative to per- formance,and can account for it.Finally,the paper puts forward the proposals for improving the level of private listed companies'corporate governance.
