Abstract

With the development of high speed and heavy load of the railway, operation environment for the vehicle is becoming bad and worse,as well as the damage is more serious.A thermo-elastic plane strain finite element model of wheel-rail is established by the finite element analysis software ANSYS.The effects of wheel-rail creepage,wheel-rail coefficient of friction, and wheel load on the temperature rise and von mise stress in the wheel-rail are analyzed. The results show that:Contact temperature is not high when high-speed train wheels rolling running. But it has a considerable thermal stress; The load of alternate heat and cold bearing in wheel rolling may cause damage easily; With the increase of the axle load, the friction factor and the creep rate, the friction thermal effects of wheel and rail is more obvious. This calculation will be of great significance for revealing heat damage mechanism.
