Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of fibroblast activation protein (FAP),α-SMA and TGF-β1 in mouse hepatic fibrosis and relationship among them. Methods Experimental liver fibrosis model was induced with carbon tetrachloride. The expressions of FAP,α-SMA and TGF-β1 were detected with immunohistochemical technique in mouse hepatic fibrosis tissue. Results The immunoreactivity of FAP,α-SMA and TGF-β1 was positively correlated with the degree of hepatic fibrosis (rs =0.753,0.762,0.834,P0.000 1). Moreover, the expression of FAP had a positive correlation with α-SMA and TGF-β1 in hepatic fibrosis tissue respectively (rs=0.825 and 0.814,P0.000 1). Conclusion FAP may act as a useful marker to evaluate the degree of hepatic fibrosis and promote the progression of hepatic fibrosis together with TGF-β1.
