Abstract

The fading reaction of Periodate-p-Acetylcarboxylazo with Cr2O72- was studied and a new spectropho-tometric method for determining trace Cr (VI) was developed. In the medium of perchloric acid the reaction is of high sensitivity. The molar absorptivity is 3.0×106 L.mor-1.cm-1. Beer's law is obeyed for Cr ( VI ) in the range of 0~50μg.
