Treatment of Anterior Open Bite with Multiloop Edgewise Archwire and Elastic Traction

Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the effects of multiloop edgewise archwire(MEAW)and elastic traction therapy in the treatment of anterior open bite.Method:16 cases of open bite(male 5,female 11,aged 11~18 years old) were treated by MEAW technique and elastic traction.The effects were evaluated by cephalometry.Result:After treatment Gratified results were achieved in all cases.Conclusion: Open bite can be treated successfully by MEAW technique and elastic traction.
