The clinical investgation of different doses of Atorvastatin in unstable angina pectoris

Objective To investigate the effect of different doses of Atorvastatin in unstable angina pectoris(UAP).Methods In this trial of 12 weeks,180 patients diagnosed unstable angina pectoris were assigned randomly to the control group and the treatment group 90 respectively.In the control groups,90 patients accepted conventional treatments and Atorvastatin 10 mg daily,while in the treatment groups 90 patients accepted conventional treatment and Atorvastatin 20mg daily.The clinical effects,ECG and lipids were recored.Results The total effective rate of chest allevation in treatment group was 92.2%and ECG improvement was 92.2%;while the total effective rate of chest allevation in control group was82.2%and ECG improvement was 80.2%,there was a statistical significent difference(P0.01) Conclusion Larger doses Atorvastatin are effective in improving symptoms of unstable angina and therefore are very effective in treating unstable angina.
