Abstract
15 common tree species in the northwestern part of Zhejiang province were selected for determination of chlorophyll content. Cluster analysis on their chlorophyll(a+b) content and chlorophyll a/b showed that chlorophyll(a+b) content in Pinus massoniana and Castanopsis sclerophylla was lower but their chlorophyll a/b was highe. Chlorophyll(a+b) content and chlorophyll a/b in Lespedeza formosa was higher, and that in Elaeocarpus decipiens, Phoebe chekiangensis, Podocarpus nagi, Metasequoia glyptostroboides, Lithocarpus glaber, Schima superba, Lithocarpus brevicaudatus, Loropetalum chinense var.rubrum, Sapium sebiferum, Taxus chinensis, Quercus phillyraeoides, Photinia fraseri wae in the middle level.
