The Application of “Java Applet” in Web Based Course Development

Abstract

Through analysis of the general features and existing defects of web based remote teaching,this paper discusses the application mechanism and application domain of “Java Applet” in such web-based remote teaching. Specifically, the applications of “Java Applet” in web based remote teaching include, but not limited to, the visual effect of web page, animation of web page, and drawings on the web page. Because of its unique design on human computer interactive aspect, helps to create an intriguing and promising web based learning environment. On the above basis,a web based “data structure Remote Teaching Course” is developed. On one hand, the course utilizes the various peculiarities of HTML, on the other hand, by Java Applet , it actualizes the dynamic simulation of a great deal of typical arithmetic.The course has shown originality in the dynamic property, interactive property and interface design,etc. Thus it is a perfect instance of successful application of “Java Applet” in web based remote teaching.
