Abstract

Objective:To observe the effects of allicin combined with antituberculotics on treatment of tuberculosis and serum inflammatory factors.Methods:64 cases with tuberculosis were divided randomly into the control group(n=30)assigned to the conventional antituberculostics and the combined treatment group(n=34)assigned to conventional antituberculostics combined with allicin. The clinical symptoms, absorption of infectious focus and the cavity closed rate of both groups were observed after the treatment. At the same time, the numbers of acid-fast bacillus(AFB)in sputum and the contents of serum TNF-α,IL-8,IL-6 and the activity of SOD were detected before and after the treatment. Results:The clinical symptoms of both groups were reduced significantly, the negative rate of AFB of the combined group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P0.05)and absorption of infectious focus in the combined group outweighed significantly that in the control group. The contents of serum TNF-α,IL-8 and IL-6 decreased significantly and were lower in the combined group than those in the control group(P0.01).On the other hand, the activity of SOD of the combined group increased significantly. Conclusion:Acillin combined treatment can effectively reduce the symptoms of patients of tuberculosis and decrease the contens of serum TNF-α,IL-8 and IL-6,which is helpful to the antituberculosis.
