Abstract
Objective: To study the possible difference of anisotropy of corpus callosum in mid-sagittal and transverse diffusion tensor imaging(DTI) in normal adults. Methods: Sixty-eight health adult volunteers were collected continuously, the male and female were 35 and 33 respectively, with an age-range from 18 to 78 years. All cases were performed mid-sagittal and transverse DTI separately. The fractional anisotropy(FA) values of the genu and splenium of the corpus callosum were measured in FA map.The FA values were analyzed. Results: The FA values of genu was higher in mid-sagittal DTI than that in transverse DTI,and had statistically difference(t=-5.833,P0.001).The FA values of splenium in mid-sagittal DTI and that in transverse DTI was no statistically difference(t=0.435,P0.05).The FA value of genu was higher than that of splenium in mid-sagittal DTI.The FA value of splenium was higher than that of genu in transverse DTI.Conclusion: The FA values of genu and splenium were different in mid-sagittal and in transverse DTI,the anisotropy of different regions of corpus callosum could be measured in mid-sagittal DTI.
