Abstract
Using the model of 4100 direct injection diesel engine made by simulation software AVL BOOST,this paper studied the effects of valve timing on the performance of 4100 direct injection diesel engine, and then confirmed appropriate valve timing.Valve timing of original engine was adjusted by optimization result, and then the experiment was carried out to compare the performance of engine ameliorated with original one.The results show that the power of engine ameliorated is improved, but the BSFC rises a little,so the emission of diesel engine is reduced a lot by wasting certain economy performance, that tallies well with results of operating process calculation.
