Abstract

Objective:To study the effect of propofol on MMP-2,MMP-9 in acute lung injury in rats. Methods:Thirty SD rats were randomized into three groups each consisting ten rats:Control group,LPS group and Propofol group. The animal models were made by injected LPS via femoral vein(5mg/kg). The leucocyte were accounted and classificated in BALF.MMP-2. MMP-9 in blood serum and BALF were detected by ELISA method. Results: The number of leucocyte, macrophage, neutrophil, lymphocytes was significantly higher in LPS group than in other two groups(P0. 01, respectively). Compared Propofol group with the Control group, the leucocyte was significantly higher(P0. 01),and the rest was higher(P0.05). The MMP-2,MMP-9 in blood serum and BALF in LPS group were significantly higher than those in other two groups(P0. 01, respectively),and the MMP-2 in blood serum was higher in Propofol group than in Control group. Conclusion:Propofol can protect lung injury associating with inhibition of MMP-2, MMP-9 activities.
