Status Quo of Safety Culture of Clinical Nursing Staff and Strategies

Objective To understand the status of safety culture of clinical nursing staff,and to analyze potential problems in nursing safety management,and provide reasonable measures for managers.Methods A total of 580 clinical nursing staff were investigated with a self-designed questionnaire with convenience sampling.The problem percent response(PPR) towards every item and dimension were calculated to reflect the status of safety culture.Results The score of safety culture was 35.9%,which was in positive level,however,the PPR of the fear of blame,the frequency of adverse event and the executive force of nurses were slightly high,and all of them were in negative level.Conclusion The results show an overall positive safety culture exists,but some aspects need to be strengthened.In order to promote the development of safety culture,it is necessary to transfer current management concepts,establish an adverse event reporting system and safety culture measurement system.
