Abstract
OBJECTIVE To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of measles in Xicheng district, so as to provide scientific basis for measles control and prevention. METHODS The measles incidence data were derived from China Information System for Diseases Control and Prevention. The data about the time distribution, region and population of measles were analyzed. RESULTS There were 254 cases, and the average incidence of measles was 5.80 /105. In 2006, the incidence of measles was as high as 11.69 / 105, then the incidence of measles in 2007, 2008 and 2009 were 5.80 / 105, 3.78 / 105 and 3.21 / 105. In 2010, the measles incidence rate was up to 5.02 / 105, and a light increased trend was found. The number of floating population was 146, and accounted for 57.48%. There was a bimodal age distribution. The high incidence age was at the range of 30-40 years, and 0-8 months. The high floating population was at the range of 20-40 and 0-5 years. The cases of measles were concentrated in children (25.59%) and staff (19.69%), then food catering staff (7.48%) and business service worker (7.09%). There was a summit from March to June (78.35%). Only 12.99% of the cases had the history of immunization. CONCLUSION We suggested measles vaccinate should be taken for pregnant women, and we should continue to vaccinate in the floating population, check leak and vaccination certificates.
