Abstract
Grouted composite ceramsite concrete block masonry is a kind of new material for load-bearing walls. In order to promote the application of this new material in village and town low-rise buildings of seismic area, compression and shear strength of composite brick masonry was tested and crack and failure progress was analyzed. The test results showed that the failure processes and characteristics of the grouted composite block masonry in compression and in shear were similar to that of the small-sized hollowed concrete block masonry, through the analysis of test data showed that the composite block masonry was suitable for buildings in village and town.
