Abstract

Objective: To find out the situation of pollution in Liyun River in a bid to provided basic fact for the treatment of the river. Methods: Tadpole micronuclei assay is used, which induce red blood corpuscle' s micro nuclear and abnormal core from three representative sections of Liyun River in Huai'an city. Results: The tadpole red blood corpuscles nuclear cell rates and core unusual cell rates in three experimental groups are remarkably higher than the contrasted group which takes aired drink water as blank assay(P0.01) after the tadpoles has lived in water for one week. Conclusion: The experimental results suggest that the water in Liyun River do have some remarkable hereditary toxicity to tadpole's red blood corpuscles, thus it is concluded that there are mutational substances in Liyun River.
