Abstract

The contents of heavy metal Cu,Zn,Pb,Ni and Cr in sediment of Lanhe River were measured, and the potential ecological risk of these heavy metals were analyzed. The results indicated that the contents of five heavy metals were significantly higher than the background values of soil in Guangzhou. The heavy metals in Lanhe River showed strong or very strong ecological risk, and the potential ecological risk of heavy metal decreased as followed Cd Cu Cr Zn Pb. The pollution characteristic of research region showed joint contamination by more than one element and relatively higher ecological hazards.
