Abstract

There are three cells in testis, mainly including Sertoli cells,Leydig cells and spermatogenic cells. The spermatogenic cells is related to the production of sperm cells.Leydig cells can secrete hormone, and sertoli cells is to maintain the structure of contorted seminiferous tubules, maintain the integrity of blood-testis-barrier,protect the function of innate immune privilege in testis, and control the function of Sertoli cells and Leydig cells. So it is feasible to construct the tissue engineered testeosterone-secreting tissue with Leydig cells and Sertoli cells as seed cells. The article reviews the interaction and regulation of Sertoli cells and Leydig cells in testis.
