Abstract

Two radiolarian assemblages are discovered from a chert sequence exposed near Jinlu Village, Zetang County, southern Tibet. They are named the Capnuchosphaera triassica Assemblage and the Pseudostylosphaera nazarovi Assemblage, comparable to Carnian (Upper Triassic) and Ladinian (Middle Triassic) faunas, respectively. The chert sequence is an exotic block enclosed in a melange matrix composed of highly cleavaged mudstone. This is the first report of Triassic Radiolaria within the Yarlung Zangbo Suture Zone.
