Abstract

Objective To study the high-polarity chemical constituents of Callicarpa kochiana Makino, thus to supply evidence for its pharmacological research and therapeutic mechanism. Methods The chemical constituents of Calli-carpa kochiana Makino were extracted by methanol and different polar solvents to obtain n-butanol extract. Then n-butanol extract was isolated and purified by macroporous resin, reversed phase silica gel,Sephadex LH-20 and Toyopearl HW-40.The structure of n-butanol extract was identified by spectral analysis of ultraviolet spectrum,in-frared spectrum, mass spectrum, and NMR spectrum. Results We obtained 8 chemical compounds from n-butanol extract.Of them, six phenylethanoid glycosides were identified as acteoside(1),forsythosides B(2),cistanoside C(3),isoacteoside(4),cistanoside D(5),lamiophlomioside A(6).Conclusion Compound 3,5 and 6 is isolated from Callicarpa genus plant for the first time, and phenylethanoid glycosides are the main chemical constituents from n-butanol fraction of Callicarpa kochiana Makino.
