Study on Theory and Application of the Semantic Web Portals

Tim Berners-Lee put forward at year 2001,and he pointed out that seman-tic web was the evolution of WWW.Semantic web in which all the information is semantic can enable data that can be understood by the machine automatically accessed and used.As a result,the Semantic web can make the exchange between people and computer more convenient and efficient.Because of the close relationship between semantic web and semantic web portals,we can take semantic web por-tals as the reduction of Semantic web.Meanwhile,the functionality implement and technology strate-gies of semantic web portals have become the important focus for the research of Semantic web.Seman-tic web portals based ontology make use of a series of semantic web technologies to enable semantic query,browse and publication as well as semantic personality.The paper firstly studies the research on semantic web portals in foreign countries and analyse the evolution skeleton and actuality of semantic web portals.
