Abstract

One structure of 3-D angle-interlock woven fabric(3DAWF) was chosen to study its ballistic penetration performance.During ballistic impact, the strike and residual velocities of the projectile were measured by two pairs of Leds in the two sides of the shooting lane. The ballistic penetration indexes were calculated according to the experimental results, combining the parameters of the projectile and 3DAWF,so its ballistic penetration properties can be predicted. The deform-ation and failure of the3DAWF was observed by microspur camera,so the energy absorption mechanism of 3DAWF was re-vealed in this article.
