Abstract
The rare earth conversion coating technology of magnesium alloys has been developing as an environmental-friendly surface treatment technology for magnesium alloys.The process of cerium conversion coating on magnesium alloy AZ91D is studied by using orthogonal layout.Characterizations of the cerium conversion coating are investigated.The results show that the uniform coating by the process of cerium conversion on magnesium alloy is obtained.The cerium conversion coating is mainly composed of MgO,Ce2O3,CeO2 and a little amount of Al2O3.The corrosion resistance of magnesium alloy is improved by the cerium conversion treatment.
